Pants Cancer Charity

Organisation Overview

Pants Cancer Charity is a Cornwall-based health charity raising awareness of HPV-related cancers and supporting people affected by them. The charity also supports individuals impacted by oral cancers and promotes awareness of the HPV vaccine to help prevent future diagnoses. Founded in 2012, Pants Cancer Charity has grown from a grassroots initiative into an established organisation employing 28 staff, led by its founder, who continues to serve voluntarily as CEO. Their work supports individuals affected by cancer, their families, and communities across Cornwall through awareness, education, and rehabilitation programmes.

The Challenge

As the charity grew, it began to face challenges around staffing, retention, and people management. While the organisation’s mission continued to expand, it became clear that stronger internal structures and improved employment knowledge were needed to support sustainable growth. The team approached Transformation Cornwall for support to help strengthen their organisational foundations, improve confidence in managing staff, and ensure the charity was equipped for long-term success.

Our Support

Transformation Cornwall worked alongside Pants Cancer Charity to provide practical organisational support, guidance, and advice. This included helping the charity strengthen its internal management structures, improve understanding of employment practices, and make more confident leadership decisions. What made the partnership especially valuable was the ongoing support and reassurance throughout the process. Transformation Cornwall provided not only practical expertise but also the confidence to make informed decisions that would support future growth.

The Results

With Transformation Cornwall’s support, Pants Cancer Charity developed stronger organisational foundations, improved management structures, and increased confidence in leading and developing their team. As a result, day-to-day operations became more effective, internal decision-making improved, and the charity was in a stronger position to grow sustainably—including being better placed to secure future funding opportunities.

Client Experience

Working with Transformation Cornwall was an extremely positive experience. What stood out most was how approachable, supportive, and responsive the team were. Knowing trusted guidance was always available gave the organisation reassurance and confidence throughout the process.

Looking Ahead

Pants Cancer Charity is continuing to build on this progress with plans to expand its cancer rehabilitation programme across Cornwall, making support accessible to more people affected by cancer. Currently delivered in Falmouth by the charity’s dedicated Cancer Rehab Manager, the ambition is to grow this service so that anyone across Cornwall who needs it can benefit.
